Dr. Jennifer Waldron
Dr. Jennifer Waldron is a Doctor of Psychology, a Licensed Clinical Psychologist, and the founder of Insight Therapy Center in Princeton, New Jersey. Following graduate school, Dr. Waldron completed a nationally-certified, APA-accredited Pre-Doctoral Internship and Postdoctoral fellowship at one of the largest community mental health centers in Indiana.
As a clinician, Dr. Waldron has worked in a variety of settings, including college counseling, community mental health, and private practice. She specializes in cognitive behavioral therapy and systems theory. As such, she has extensive experience in helping patients to identify and change negative patterns of thought and behavior and to develop more positive and satisfying relationships with others. Dr. Waldron utilizes a variety of relaxation techniques in therapy to offer patients more effective tools for managing life stress. Through this process, patients often find that they ultimately feel more self confident and better equipped to respond to life challenges and emotional distress in a healthy and effective manner.
Dr. Waldron is fluent in Spanish and has worked with Spanish speaking populations for over a decade. She is a former elementary school teacher and has her Master's degree in elementary education. As a result, she has unique insight into effective ways to improve communication with teachers and school administrators and to help parents to create systems at home to encourage positive behaviors from children and adolescents.
Dr. Waldron has particular expertise and interest in couples therapy. She has worked with many couples to identify persistent obstacles to their relationship satisfaction, to engage in constructive conflict resolution, and to develop and practice positive communication strategies in couples therapy sessions and in everyday life.
Dr. Waldron is a member of the American Psychological Association and the New Jersey Psychological Association. She volunteers as an alumni interviewer and at a local cooperative nursery school. Dr. Waldron enjoys skiing, live music, and exploring the many festivals and events that Mercer County has to offer. She lives with her husband and two children in the Princeton area.
